12/14U INTRO TO WATER POLO
Our Intro to Water Polo program is designed for athletes who are eager to learn the game but aren’t yet ready to jump into competition. Players train alongside our regular teams and receive the same high-quality coaching and practice structure, but at a reduced cost since game participation is not included. This program builds confidence, skills, and conditioning in a supportive environment—preparing athletes to transition smoothly into competitive play when they’re ready.
If your athlete is comfortable in the water, enjoys surfing, swimming or is active at any dryland sport then water polo is the perfect fit!
Age Group placement is based on the athlete's age as of August 1, 2026. For example - if your athlete is still 12 on August 1, 2026, they qualify as a 12U player.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: All PVWPC members must be registered with USA Water Polo prior to their first day of water polo training and maintain current membership status. PVWPC Intro To Water Polo athletes are required to be a Bronze Member, affiliated with P.V Water Polo Club. Please follow link to register:
REGISTRATION & PAYMENT: We use a registration system called SportNinja. For first time users you will need to create an account as the parent first and then create a player profile for each of your players from there. Please make sure you include your player's USA Water Polo Membership # in the "Governing Body ID" when filling in your player's information.

AGE DETERMINATION:
12U: 12 years of age as of August 1, 2026, they qualify as a 12U
14U: 14 years of age as of August 1, 2026, they qualify as a 14U
COMMITMENT LEVEL: Success in water polo comes from consistency. While we understand that schedules can get busy, we strongly encourage athletes to attend practices as often as possible. The more time spent in the pool, the faster skills develop, conditioning improves, and confidence grows.
SWIM TO WIN: Swim to Win is a focused conditioning practice offered on select “off days” during the week. These sessions are separate from regular practices, ensuring swim training never takes away from valuable water polo drills, tactics, or scrimmages. While attendance is optional, the program is included with your membership and provides a great opportunity for athletes to build endurance, sharpen speed, and accelerate their readiness for game play.
