Subject: A New Era for Our Club: Introducing OVAC Origine Dei Vincitori Aquatics Club

Dear PVWPC Families,

Over the years, Palos Verdes Water Polo Club has grown into something more than just a local team. While our roots remain proudly in Palos Verdes, our players and families represent communities across the South Bay and beyond.

As we continue to evolve, we’re stepping into a new chapter, one that reflects who we are today, with a name that moves beyond geography and is more inclusive of our membership.

We’re excited to introduce our new identity:

OVAC

Origine Dei Vincitori Aquatics Club

(Origin of the Victors)

The name OVAC carries both meaning and continuity. It was previously operated by our High Performance Director, Robert Lynn, as a competitive aquatics program based out of Peninsula High School. That history established strong relationships within PVPUSD facilities and helped build a culture centered on high-level training and performance.

This name also pays tribute to water polo’s deep European heritage, where the sport was shaped by strength, strategy, and tradition. Origine Dei Vincitori (Origin of the Victors) reflects the mindset we aim to instill in every athlete, discipline, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence, both in and out of the water.

While our name is evolving, our commitment remains the same:

  • To develop strong, confident athletes and teammates

  • To foster competitive excellence within a supportive environment

  • To provide a welcoming place for athletes to learn and love the sport of water polo

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.

With appreciation,

Your OVAC Board of Directors

Paige Inman, Emily Zalenski, Eleanor Welke, Mario Amalfitano, Jonathan Sandler, and Jessica DeVille
